The Continental

Let The Continental whisk you away to Europe this December with Chef Consultant Rowley Leigh’s refined classics. From 1st to 31st December, the elegant all-day dining establishment will serve a special Table d’Hote set lunch every weekday excluding the 25th, a Winter Tasting Menu every evening and a Christmas Tasting Menu available on Christmas day for both lunch and dinner.

The Table d’Hote set lunch offers three choices for each course. Starter choices comprise the Celeriac and Fennel Soup with Sage Fritters, Gravadlax and Cucumber Salad on Rye Toast, or Duck and Foie Gras Terrine with Onion Marmalade on Brioche Toast. Choices of mains include a hearty Roast Squash with Green Lentils, Smoked Mozzarella and Thyme, the Cod with Shrimp and Mace, Dill Carrots and Champ, or for a truly traditional holiday dish, Ballotine of Turkey with Chestnuts and Cranberry Sauce. Diners may also round out the meal with dessert, choosing between the Lemon Tart, Stilton with Walnut Bread, or Christmas Pudding served with Brandy Butter.

For the Winter Tasting Menu, Chef Rowley turns up the festive spirit with his favourite holiday classics. Starting with a light Endive, Quince and Mozzarella Salad, diners then choose between a luxurious Radicchio Tardivo with Valpolicella, Taleggio Cream and Almonds, or the Dover Sole Fillets with Clams, Potatoes and Seaweed Butter. Next, dig into aromatic Roast Leeks, Fine Herb Risotto and Black Truffles, or the Roast Goose Leg with Spiced Red Cabbage and Apple Sauce. For dessert, Panettone Bread and Butter Pudding is followed by the quintessential Christmas cheese – Stilton, served with Walnut Bread made fresh in the kitchen. The Christmas Tasting Menu in addition offers the Roast Ballotine of Turkey with Chestnuts, Cranberry Sauce, Roasted Potatoes and Brussels Sprouts as an option for main course.

The December Table d’Hote is priced at $325 for two courses or $365 for three courses. The five-course Winter Tasting Menu and Christmas Tasting Menu are priced at $625, or $1,125 with wine pairings for each course. Prices are subject to 10% service charge.
