Operations Manager

Main Responsibilities:

  • Report to the Restaurant Manager and assist him/her in daily operation of the restaurant
  • Work with chefs and related parties to plan menus that are flavorful and popular with customers
  • Work with chefs for efficient provisioning and purchasing of supplies. Estimate food and beverage costs.
  • Supervise portion control and quantities of preparation to minimize waste
  • Perform frequent checks to ensure consistent high quality of preparation and service
  • Supervise operation of restaurant and bar to maximize profitability, minimize legal liability, and conform to alcoholic beverage regulations
  • Work with management to plan marketing, advertising, and any special restaurant functions
  • Direct hiring, training, and scheduling of team members
  • Investigate and resolve complaints concerning food quality and service
  • Enforce sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness, and maintenance of dining areas
  • Comply with all health and safety regulations
  • Review and monitor, with bookkeeper or other financial parties, expenditures to ensure that they conform to budget limitations. Work to improve performance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 – 5 years Food and Beverage experience
  • Advantage if holding qualification in wine
  • Excellent food and beverage knowledge
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Very flexible and able to adapt to changing environments
  • Able to cope with pressure
  • Positive attitude and outgoing personality
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English, Cantonese and Mandarin would be advantageous
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office e.g. Word, Excel, Power Point
